Tristar trailer equipment – built tough to last

Using high-quality steel Tristar delivers reliable and durable products that go the long way.

Australian owned and operated Tristar Industries specialises in the fabrication of heavy-duty transport equipment.

In nearly five decades of experience working across different industry sectors including transport, Tristar has built a reputation for high-quality Australian manufacturing. It is a one-stop service for design, drafting, engineering, fabrication, sandblasting, paint facilities, repairs and maintenance of trucks and trailer equipment. Tristar also operates a fully functional parts store at its Pinelands, Northern Territory facility.

Tristar Industries has a history of delivering quality workmanship. The company has capabilities to design and fabricate various parts and equipment for different transport needs. The team has extensive experience within the transport and civil construction industries and is able to provide the smartest and most productive solutions to its clients. The team ensures that they understand the specific needs of different customers and their applications in not only Northern Territory, but across Australia and overseas.

Within the transport sector, Tristar is known for its innovative side tipping semi-trailers, water tanks, fuel tanks, flat tops, steps decks, spread decks, skel trailers, cattle crates, dollies, end tippers, truck refurbishments, and truck fit outs. The company has technical capabilities to carry out strip and refit of trailers, prime movers, dollies and all other transport equipment. The team also has extensive experience to deliver custom modifications for different equipment. It can provide refurbishment services from minor paint touch ups to full machine sandblast and paint to client specifications and deliver the highest quality finish.

“Tristar is a long-standing name in the industry. Their brand name carries a lot of trust. Tristar trailers have proven their performance and reliability in the harshest environments. The high-quality build and durability of these trailers is what sets them apart in the market,” says Shannan Saxby, who is the Ares Sales Representative – Used Trucks and New Trailers for Western Truck Group, a sub-dealership of Tristar.

Since taking over Toowoomba-based Queensland Truck Centre (QTC) in 2018, Western Truck Group (WTG) has built on the previous dealership’s existing relationship with Tristar Industries and established itself as a trusted network partner of the trailer manufacturer. The Toowoomba dealership has already sold many quad sets, tippers, super quads, drop backs, and water tankers to operators in regional Queensland. “Our customers have been happy with Tristar products. With Tristar we can be sure that our customers will get what the products promise to be, and probably that’s why we’ve had no issues with any of the vehicles we’ve sold so far,” Shannan says.

“We have a very good working relationship with both Paul and Ricky at Tristar. They are both very knowledgeable and approachable people. They have been really good to deal, particularly considering the tough time the industry is going through.”

Tristar products are manufactured using high-quality flat steel. The heavy-duty components provide superior strength and long-term durability to minimise the risk of downtime and improve ease of maintenance.
The revolutionary tipping action of Tristar side tippers helps achieve more trips per day with a quick and clean discharge while on the move. The side door design helps prevent the load from spilling underneath trailers, reducing potential damage to tyres. Tristar water tanks and fuel tanks are made using high-quality steel that prevents the risk of fatigue cracks, which is common in tanks made with lighter materials. Tristar fluid tanks are built to stand tough in metropolitan areas as well as on unsealed, corrugated outback roads.

Tristar currently operate four large fabrication sheds, a trailer fit out shed, state-of-the-art sand blast and paint shed and a fully equipped machine shop. The facility is operated by a well-trained and qualified team that includes a mechanical engineer, profile cutter, press operator, diesel mechanic, auto electricians, machinists, hydraulic experts, welders and boiler makers.

Tristar also supports over 15 apprentices at any given time. Running the business on a collaborative approach, Tristar prides itself on providing exceptional service and products to its customers. The team has a capacity to deliver over 2,000+ man hours per week, with the scope to increase as required.

Tristar’s spare parts department stocks all major brands of trailing components, including K-Hitch, SAF-Holland and BPW for different trailer needs. Tristar also sells refurbishment kits for all in-house manufactured cylinders.
