McNaughtans Decopan

Global truck body and trailer hardware supplier, McNaughtans, believes that the key to staying a supplier of choice in an increasingly competitive market is simple: “find and supply the best product for the customer”.

McNaughtans National Project Manager, Steve Cieslak, says though other companies may boast a similar ethos, McNaughtans stands out for its substantial investments of time and effort into bringing only the best products into its range. “We try to be incredibly market responsive and have exceptionally strong global connections to supply and manufacturing so we can always give the customer what they want,” he says. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

A recent addition to the range that meets market requirements is the Decopan Transport range of Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) sheets from Turkish manufacturer, Fibrosan. According to Steve, leading trailer manufacturers and rigid body builders worldwide use the Decopan sheets in their products because the range complies with the ultimate international quality, safety and health standards. “Decopan Transport FRP sheets and panels are widely used in closed and insulated trailer body building, refrigerated and freezer body building, as well as commercial vehicle manufacturing and modifications,” Steve explains.

“Developed by the Fibrosan team, the Decopan Transport product range meets the demands of the world’s transport sector in five continents, from America to Australia, with superior health and safety standards.”

Providing the proof to the manufacturer’s claim, the Decopan Transport FRP range of sheets meets the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards, a globally recognised methodology used by food and related industries for the control of food safety hazards. “Decopan FRP sheets boast hygienic characteristics that even make them suitable for operation rooms,” Steve adds. “The premium surface quality therefore makes it a suitable product for food contact, for example in rigid bodies with hanging meat, or with palletised fresh produce.”

The Decopan range offers a number of different options to ensure it has a product that is best suited to each part of the trailer body, including anti-slip flooring panels and lightweight, reinforced corrosion-free roof panels. The range is growing, too, with the addition of Decopan High Impact, a gel-coated laminate with an advanced reinforced structure, and improved mechanical properties and elasticity, among numerous new products added to the catalogue.

“The options of the Decopan range are almost unlimited,” Steve adds. “Fibrosan’s special production technology and flexible product development capabilities make Decopan Transport products fully customisable, from face and underside specs to composite characteristics and colour, due to areas of use, manufacturers’ needs or application specifications.”
According to Steve, the variety and benefits of the Decopan range haven’t gone unnoticed by the Australian market. “McNaughtans has had great success with Decopan in Australia and the uptake continues to grow,” Steve says. “We stock a range of products in our branches located in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, as well as two branches in Melbourne’s main manufacturing areas, Laverton and Dandenong.”

The company carefully monitors stock levels at each of the branches, in order to maintain its on-time delivery record, which Steve says is hard to compete with.

“Available for our transport manufacturing market, our Decopan FRP has excellent surface quality, is lightweight, flexible for workability, has a high impact resistance and can be used on various roofing, walls and flooring transport applications,” Steve says. “The Decopan fibreglass skins are the best product we can supply to our rigid and trailer body building customers. They are a high-quality product providing the highest in safety compliance – all at competitive pricing.”
